A fellow entrepreneur friend (shoutout to Devon Sevy from Sizzle Pop!) advised me early on to set up Google My Business for Ocurent ASAP. He told me to fill in as much content as possible in the fields available, and post frequently. I’m grateful that I listened to him. This tool is simple, free, soooo easy to use, and it actually brought in customers.

I started off by filling in all of my business details and uploading my website and social media photography. This helped index my business within Google Search so that shoppers, looking to rent sustainable designer dresses in Montreal, could easily find me! I then asked a few customers if they would mind leaving an honest review of their recent experience, which helped new customers get a sense of the quality of Ocurent’s service offering. After that, I set a weekly calendar reminder to create a post for Google My Business.

What I’ve Learned

There are A LOT of high-quality free business resources available to the public that can make a massive impact on growth. To keep my business lean, I focused on optimizing these business tools prior to investing in any paid campaigns.
